What is a Chiropractic Adjustment?

It is the goal of your Chiropractor to remove Vertebral Subluxations. These Subluxations are removed by a series of specific Chiropractic Adjustments. When giving an adjustment, your Chiropractor introduces a force into the body to set the targeted bone in motion. The adjustment is applied in a specific location, in a precise direction, at an appropriate time with the intent of restoring proper alignment.

A Chiropractic adjustment is very different from cracking your own back or neck. Although both may make a noise and you might feel better, the self-adjustment is not specific, requires no skill and does not correct a Subluxation. In the long run, this bad habit causes damage to the spine and surrounding tissues.

Chiropractic Adjustments are safe. A New Zealand study found that adjustments are "remarkably safe." By avoiding drugs and risky surgery, Chiropractic care enjoys an excellent track record. Statistics show that adjustments are about 100 times safer than taking an over-the-counter pain reliever.

In order to maintain health and live longer, more productive lives, you must do things regularly and consistently. Although it takes more effort to eat healthy and exercise regularly, it greatly benefits your health and life. In the same fashion, regular Chiropractic care takes time and effort, but in the long run it benefits your overall health and performance.

Your spine encounters stress every day, which can lead to Subluxation. This can cause nerve interference without any symptoms. Damage can occur that cannot be repaired or "fixed". It is important to have your spine examined and, if necessary, adjusted before your organs and tissues stop working properly due to lack of nerve supply.

Just about anyone can be adjusted. Newborns, infants, children, seniors and even failed back surgery patients can benefit. Everyone can experience life and health to its fullest potential!
