Giving
DuPage
By
combining the efforts of individuals, businesses, civic groups, not-for-profit
organizations and the DuPage County government, Giving DuPage promotes
volunteerism in DuPage County. Organizations needing donations of goods,
money or volunteer service are post their needs on the site for volunteers
to browse, looking for how they can best serve.
The current web site features
information that is frequently updated to reflect changing needs due to
seasonal or emergency requests. Two annual events sponsored by Giving
DuPage are the Day of Volunteerism every September and the Holiday Giving
Guide in November. Registration for both is solicited online with temporarily
available webpages. Not-For-Profits log on to register their needs, while
volunteers log on to register their availability. The entire database
is managed by the Giving DuPage administrator, cutting down tremendously
on paperwork and phone calls.
As funding becomes available,
Giving DuPage plans to update the website to be even more interactive
on a daily basis, making it increasingly simple to match opportunities
with the generous volunteers of DuPage County.

their site now.
